Marriage LicensesMarriage Records, Voter and Elections InformationHere are the eligibility criteria for securing public and confidential marriage licenses in Solano County:
1. Both individuals must visit the County Clerk’s Office in person for application.
2. Both parties need valid photo identification, such as a driver's license or passport.
3. If either party has been previously married or in a domestic partnership, and the dissolution happened within the 90 days prior to applying, a copy of the final judgment is required.
4. For public marriage licenses, both individuals must be at least 18 years of age; otherwise, a court order is necessary.
5. Confidential marriage licenses also necessitate the applicants being above 18 and living together as spouses.
6. Fees apply for both licenses and payment methods should be confirmed with the County Clerk’s Office.
7. There is no waiting period after obtaining the license, and it is valid immediately.
8. For public licenses, an officiant must return the marriage license to the County Clerk's Office within ten days of the ceremony.
9. Confidential marriage licenses must be recorded with the County Clerk immediately after the ceremony.
